Piper Ally
Ally is an Australia born piper who has been playing for 8 years, and performs for POD and teaches bagpipes for the Sydney School of Piping & Drumming. She competes solo in Australia and had also competed in Malaysia.
Piper Bill
Born in Scotland and has played with many distinguished pipe bands, both in the UK and Australia over the last 60+ years.
Piper Graham
Is an Australian born piper who has completed in Grade 1 and is an accomplished performer and an adjudicator.
Piper Hugh
Is an Australian born piper who has completed in Grade 1 in Australia and the UK and hold an Australian Advanced Piping Certificate.
Piper Iain
Born in New Zealand and originally learnt the pipes from his father who who a game keeper on the Balmoral Estate in Scotland. Iain has lead bands on the contest park as the Pipe Major.
Piper Todd
Is an Australian born piper who also plays whistle and small pipes. Todd is our resident ROCK piper.
Piper William
Australian born William has amassed many credits to his name in a very short time. He has won solo prizes in NSW and Victoria. He has played in the Edinburgh Military Tattoo and was a guest member of the band who won the 2023 Scottish and World Grade 4B Championships and were also crowned Champions of Champions. Will also teaches pipes for the Sydney School of Piping and Drumming.
Snare Drummer Chris
An established drummer who has played in top flight bands in South Australia, Victoria, NSW and New Zealand.
Drummer Michael
Born in Australia to Scottish parents, Michael plays Snare, Bass, Tenor and Djembke. He has been the Australian B Grade Tenor Drum Champion and currently performs for POD and teaches drums full time.
Bugler Adrian
For 15 years, he was lead trumpet and concert soloist for the Australian Army. He has been lead trumpet for the Don Burrows Big Band and Dick Montz Big Band. He was lead trumpet on the Dionne Warwick Sydney Hilton tour and The Two Ronnies’ Australian tour. He is a multi-Mo Award winner and the music director for the MacArthur Schools Combined Pop Orchestra. Adrian has played and been featured on Channel 10, Channel 9, Channel 7, and ABC. He was the fanfare team leader for Her Majesty The Queen at Buckingham Palace and trumpet soloist at St Andrew’s Cathedral for Her Majesty The Queen and Prince Philip.
Bugler John
He is an active musician who started playing trumpet at the Bankstown Police Boys Club at 8 years old. He was a solo cornet for Mary’s Brass Band from 1990 to 2014. He has played the Last Post and Rouse for nearly every Anzac Day for 56 years. He studied jazz at Sydney Conservatorium Big Band. For 7 years, he was lead trumpet for the Warren Daly Big Band and Ed Wilson Big Bands, as well as playing in many cover and original bands which toured locally and internationally. He has also played in many theatre productions all over Sydney. He has performed at most clubs in the Sydney area as a trumpet musician, backing both local and international artists. John is the musical director of his own big band, Swing West Jazz Orchestra.
